Affirmed Identity™ - Zero Trust Passwordless Push Authentication

About AffirmedID

Affirmed Identity LLC

Founded in 2023

Principal office: Naples, Florida

State of incorporation: Delaware

Affirmed Identity delivers federated Identity and Authentication solutions. Solutions that make authentication simpler, faster, more automated, and SECURE. And doing so while complying with the NIST Zero Trust Architecture model. Its on-premises or cloud-based integrations provide scalability and reach with constant access to innovation whilst promoting Zero Trust compliance, ease of use, and lower costs. Its integrated cell phone authenticator app provides a seamless experience with verified device identity and robust 3-factor (MFA) verification of user identity delivered in friendly passwordless push authentication ceremonies. Incorporating after-the-fact continuous monitoring extends that ceremony to ensure user presence and identity throughout the authenticated session. Recognizing Zero Trust begins with Identity, the company’s prime goal is to enable organizations to develop secure identity management programs that seamlessly integrate with the organization’s current and evolving cybersecurity infrastructure.

About the Founder

A tech visionary, aka dreamer, who, following a 7-year stint in cybersecurity software engineering and architecture, conceived ‘credentialless’ identity recognition and verification. Based in part on Northeastern University research proving human behavior is 93 percent predictable based on prior behaviors. From this basis, Rick found that by combining cell phone technology's multiple sensory inputs with a custom-built AI network, he could prove the truth of this paper in a commercially practical way. By 2015 his research work had resulted in a working model, a cell phone app, for the first known credentialless identity verifier. That, combined with his conceived Tri-Net authentication in the same period, became the basis for the first of four related and now often cited published patents. By 2016, that working model, together with a FIDO2 over Bluetooth implementation, became the first working model of a credentialless FIDO2 authenticator app. The presentation to the FIDO Alliance in 2020 resulted in a less than enthusiastic response. And from that was born in 2022 the "Affirmed Identity Provider Service." A Tri-Net service implementation based on credentialless FIDO2 authentication conducted between the user’s cell phone device and a cloud API FIDO Client service. Operating over a second network, the API service communicates simultaneously with the secure application running on the user’s access device. In compliance with Tri-Net, the access device and cell phone, as part of Tri-Net, form a third network connection, performing both active and passive proximity authentication over the Bluetooth channel.
