Affirmed Identity™ - Zero Trust Passwordless Push Authentication

About AffirmedID

Affirmed Identity LLC

Founded in 2023

Principal office: Naples, Florida

State of incorporation: Delaware

Affirmed Identity delivers federated Identity and Authentication solutions. Solutions that make authentication simpler, faster, more automated, and SECURE. And doing so while complying with the NIST Zero Trust Architecture model. Its on-premises or cloud-based integrations provide scalability and reach with constant access to innovation whilst promoting Zero Trust compliance, ease of use, and lower costs. Its integrated cell phone authenticator app provides a seamless experience with verified device identity and robust 3-factor (MFA) verification of user identity delivered in friendly passwordless push authentication ceremonies. Incorporating after-the-fact continuous monitoring extends that ceremony to ensure user presence and identity throughout the authenticated session. Recognizing Zero Trust begins with Identity, the company’s prime goal is to enable organizations to develop secure identity management programs that seamlessly integrate with the organization’s current and evolving cybersecurity infrastructure.

About the Founder

Rick Hallock

A tech visionary, aka dreamer, who, following a 7-year stint in cybersecurity software engineering and architecture, conceived ‘credentialless’ identity recognition and verification. Based in part on Northeastern University research asserting that by using a cell phone, human behavior is 93 percent predictable. Expanding on this, Rick found that by combining sensor inputs to a custom-built AI network, he could prove out the truth of this theory and do so in a commercially practical way. By 2015 he had a working model, a cell phone app, of a credentialless identity verifier. Tri-Net authentication, conceived during the same period, defines a set of methods to secure the exchange of authentication challenge and response messages. Combined, they became the basis of the first of four granted, published and now often cited patents. By 2016, these efforts combined with FIDO2 over Bluetooth become a first its kind credentialless FIDO2 authenticator app employing try-net security. A presentation of the fruits of his efforts to the FIDO Alliance in 2020 resulted in a less than enthusiastic response. Undaunted, in 2022 the "Affirmed Identity Provider Service" was born. An identity provider service providing credentialless FIDO2 authentication between the cell phone and a FIDO Client API service in the cloud, the first leg. Over separate network, the second leg, the API service performs on behalf of an access device application. Completing the tri-net, the third leg, is a Bluetooth exchange between access device and cell phone. No credential, therefore, nothing to harvest, phishing resistant FIDO2, and tri-net make hijacking the authentication ceremony a thing of the past.
