Terms and Abbreviations

AffirmId – Pronounced “affirmed” referring to the cloud Identity Provider service provided by Affirmed Identity LLC.

IDaaS – a name given to cloud Identity Provider service, “ID”, delivered “as a Service” for use by Service Providers and their users.

IAM – Identity and Access Management services such as those provided by Microsoft, Okta, Google, and others.

IDP – Identity Provider services such as AffirmId provided by Affirmed Identity LLC.

P2PE – Point to Point Encryption wherein encryption is performed by the sending app and decryption performed by the receiving app thereby ensuring that at no point between the two is the payload ever available in its unencrypted form.

NIST – National Institute of Science and Technology, a government agenciy providing a body of standards on which AffirmId security posture is based.

ZTAZero Trust Architecture a well-defined NIST standard based on a core principle of “never trust, always verify”.

SAML - Is the underlying protocol used for Single Sign On (SSO).
